7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment

The 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (7 RAR) is a regular infantry battalion of the Australian Army. It was originally raised in 1965 as part of Australia’s commitment to the Vietnam War.

The Australian Army is Australia’s principal land warfare force, a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. (7 RAR) is a regular infantry battalion of the Australian Army that forms part of the Australian Defence Force. The 7th Battalion is currently based at RAAF Base Edinburgh in Adelaide and forms part of the 9th Brigade.

7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment. The Regimental Badge was reproduced on Christmas cards in 1949 but was not issued as a hat badge until early 1954 when the new badges, replacing the AIF Badge, were issued to 2 RAR in Korea. The Regimental Badge has been worn ever since.
