The Iraq Medal recognises the service of Australian Army personnel in specified operations in the Iraq region from 2003. Including within Operations Falconer, Catalyst, Riverbank and Kruger.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) comprises of the Australian Army that is the principal land warfare force of Australia, the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. The Australian Defence Medal recognises current and former Australian Defence Force personnel who completed an initial enlistment period, or four years of service, whichever was the lesser.

Framed Memorabilia honours the personnel who serve/served.

The Iraq Medal features the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. The reverse has a processional lion, which is copied from a relief on the Gateway of the Temple of Ishtar in Babylon. The lion stands on a narrow plinth, symbolising balance, with the word ‘IRAQ’ inscribed underneath. The ribbon is sand yellow representing the desert sands of Iraq, with central stripes of purple and red representing the ADF and the conflict in Iraq.
