The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) is the parent administrative regiment for regular infantry battalions of the Australian Army and is the senior infantry regiment of the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. The 2nd/30th Training Group is based at Butterworth situated on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the Malaysian State of Penang and eight kilometres east of its capital, George Town. The 2/30 Training Group is an Australian Army unit stationed in Butterworth, Malaysia, that conducts training for forces deployed as part of Rifle Company Butterworth.
