The L1A1 Self Loading Rifle (SLR) was a gas-operated, semi-automatic only. This magazine-fed rifle that was used by the Australian and New Zealand forces during the Vietnam War. It entered into service with the Australian Army in 1959*. The L1A1 was a reliable, hard-hitting, gas-operated, magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle.  This Miniature Self Loading Rifle is displayed within a shadow box frame (as shown). The L1A1 Semi-Automatic Rifle entered into service with the Australian Defence Force in the late 1950s. Conflicts included Malayan Emergency, Indonesia Malaysia confrontation and South Vietnam War furthermore, peacekeeping with NATO.
