Framed for Display is this Australian $2 Paper Banknote 1985 signed by Johnston / Fraser, this banknote is in uncirculated condition. In 1966 Australia changed its currency from Pounds, Shilling, and Pence to Decimal Dollars. The first decimal notes were made using paper from 1966 to 1996 prior to changing completely to the new Polymer (Plastic) notes. The Australian two-dollar note was introduced in 1966 to replace the £1 note due to decimalisation. It was replaced by a gold-coloured coin in 1988. The paper design included a watermark in the white field of Captain James Cook; the watermark was also used in the last issue of pound banknotes. A metallic strip, first near the Centre of the note, then from 1976 moved to the left side on the obverse of the note.
