The 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR) is an amphibious light infantry battalion of the Australian Army part of the 1st Division Amphibious Task Group based at Lavarack Barracks in Townsville. The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) is the parent administrative regiment for regular infantry battalions of the Australian Army, the senior infantry regiment of the Royal Australian Infantry Corps.
