The Australian Army is Australia’s principal land warfare force, a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. (8 RAR) was an Australian Army Regular infantry battalion between (1966-73). Initially, the battalion was sent to Malaysia in 1967, before later being sent to South Vietnam as part of Australia’s commitment to the Vietnam War.
