The AFP Welfare Services Medal features two cupped hands supporting the AFP badge to represent the welfare support provided to the AFP. St Edward’s Crown sits above the AFP badge symbolising the royal authority of Queen Elizabeth II in the Commonwealth. Around the rim is the text ‘AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE WELFARE SERVICES’. The reverse has a wreath of wattle, a plant which is known to survive drought, flood and adverse climatic conditions, which represents the resilience of the AFP workforce.
