L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle New Zealand Army

The L1A1 Self Loading Rifle (SLR) was a gas-operated, semi-automatic only. The New Zealand Army used this magazine-fed rifle during the Vietnam War.

It entered into service with the New Zealand Army in 1960. The L1A1 was a reliable, hard-hitting, gas-operated, magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle.  This Miniature Self Loading Rifle is displayed within a shadow box frame (as shown). The L1A1 Semi-Automatic Rifle entered into service with the New Zealand Army in the late 1960 to late 1988*. Conflicts included the Malayan Emergency, the Malaysia confrontation and the South Vietnam War furthermore, peacekeeping with NATO.
