Framed Memorabilia presents framed for display the Lee Enfield .303 Rifle (SMLE) – Australia was the main battle rifle of the Australian Army for WWI – WWII to the Korean War. Framed for your memory and enjoyment is the Official Name: Rifle, Short, Magazine, Lee Enfield, .303 inch, Mk III/III*. The SMLE Mk III* (renamed Rifle No.1 Mk III* in 1926) saw extensive service throughout the Second World War, especially in the North African, Italian, Pacific and Burmese theatres in the hands of Australian Defence Forces. Australia and India retained and manufactured the SMLE Mk III* as their standard rifle during the conflicts, and the rifle remained in Australian military service through to the Malayan Emergency until it was replaced by the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) in the late 1950s. It was the Australian Army’s standard rifle from 1907 until 1959*.

This quality 1/6th scale miniature model is die-cast in a zinc alloy before being hand-finished and measures approximately 6 inches long (15cm).
