Owen Machine Carbine

The Owen gun, known officially as the Owen machine carbine, was an Australian submachine gun designed by Evelyn Owen in 1938. Hello and welcome to Framed Memorabilia! The Australian Army is Australia’s principal land warfare force, a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The Owen was used in front-line service in the WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars. It remained a standard weapon of the Australian Army until the early 1960s, 1RAR, 5RAR and 6RAR on their first tours carried the weapon to Vietnam.
