The 3rd Cavalry Regiment was an armoured regiment of the Australian Army. Australia’s military involvement in the Vietnam War began with the arrival of the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam. The Regiment served in every major operation by the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), including the Tet Offensive. Australia’s participation in the war was formally declared at an end when the Governor-General proclaimed on 11 January 1973.
