We are excited to showcase a beautifully framed collection featuring the Scottish Kilt tartan, motto and heraldic crest of Clan MacDougall. A Scottish clan (from Scottish Gaelic clann, literally ‘children’, more broadly ‘kindred’) is a kinship group among the Scottish people of Scotland. Furthermore, Clans give members a sense of shared heritage and descent, and modern times have an official structure recognised by the Court of the Lord Lyon, which regulates Scottish heraldry and coats of arms. Most clans have their tartan patterns and heraldic crest badges, tartans, and mottoes usually dating from the 19th century, which members may incorporate into tartans, kilts or other clothing.
