The Australian Army is the principal land warfare force of Australia. It is a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), along with the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force.

 

The Australian Army is the principal land warfare force of Australia, a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The Army is commanded by the Chief of Army (CA), who is subordinate to the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) who commands the ADF. The CA is also directly responsible to the Minister for Defence, with the Department of Defence administering the ADF and the Army.

The RAAF is the principal air and space force of Australia, a part of the Australian Defence Force along with the RAN and the Army. Constitutionally, the Governor-General of Australia is the de jure Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force.

The Royal Australian Corps of Transport (RACT) is a corps within the Army. The RACT is ranked tenth in seniority of the corps of the Army and is the most senior logistics corps. It was formed on 1 June 1973 as an amalgamation of the (RAASC) and the Royal Australian Engineers Transportation Service. The RACT is responsible for the operation of army surface transport assets movement control terminal and postal services. Including Army aspects of air logistic support.
